Happy Christmas!

Well, I know that at least one regular reader has noticed that the Soup has been in scarce supply round here (thanks Gareth!). According to my archives, this is a pattern at this time of year - all my soupy thoughts seem to go into hibernation. I’d like to say that I go […]

Turn up the heat!

The snow shows no sign of stopping here - the sky is full of it. The roads are slow and getting worse and people’s tempers are fraying. I just heard a woman who had been driving down our street leap out of her car (once she’d swerved to a stop) and scream at […]

Whiteout

Fed up with this mild, pathetic excuse for a winter? Need some really cold weather? Snow, perhaps? Never fear. Here at Pumpkin Soup we have just the thing. Simply speak the following words:

Rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated

This is the longest I have ever left between posts - a personal worst, if you will. There’s no excuse, other than being very busy on the one hand and rather uninspired on the other. Thank you to everyone who commented or emailed me to check out that I was still OK.
Here’s a […]

Antidote to winter

What’s the weather like in your part of the world? Here it’s absoutely freezing. It’s too cold to even think about being down the allotment - though it’s not as if I actually have the time to go there anyway. It is the kind of weather that elicits cravings for comfort food, […]
