The street is carpeted with fallen leaves so we have been dilligently filling our leaf sacks. 7 filled so far and 3 to go. Then it’s time for the big guns. We have empty sacks from when the slate chips were delivered and I intend to fill them with leaves too. [...]

I’m waiting for my raspberry canes and garlic to arrive as I am very keen to have something else to plant out. There’s only so much excitement a girl can get from filling sacks with leaves, you know.

Mel has harvested the last of her squash. I am envious. This is the best I have been able to manage this year - a tiny, sad Uchiki Kuri that is smaller than an egg.
