Snickerdoodledoo!

Having lots of friends round for multiple weekends of rehearsing seems to bring out my motherly side and I get a strong urge to make huge quantities of food. Last weekend I made some gorgeous pepper and tomato soup as well as vats of ice cream (not to eat together, you understand) and yet another chocolate courgette loaf.

This week, I fancied doing something different. Because even though it is just not possible to tire of my gorgeous honeycomb crunch ice cream, I like to ring the changes. So today I pulled out some recipe books and decided to make some biscuits, recipes that I haven’t tried before. Being indecisive, I couldn’t choose just one type of biscuit to make and so have baked three different varieties: some dark chocolate types called Granny Boyd’s biscuits, a batch of white chocolate and pistachio biscuits (both pictured above - just about), and a tinfull of the intriguingly named snickerdoodles (shown in close up here).

All recipes have been taken from Nigella’s How to be a Domestic Goddess, were ridiculously easy to follow and taste utterly fab. I can’t decide which I prefer so there will have to be extensive research and taste testing over the weekend.

Hi Sara. Alas, pictures and happy memories are all that remain of them now!
