This much I know

aquilegia

It’s always ‘rains stops play’, never ‘rain stops work’.

Wrong. So very, very wrong.

    Hi Clare,
This photograph is fabulous. The flower is beautiful. Is it a columbine?

Yes indeed - although I know it as an Aquilegia. I think they also get called Granny’s bonnets. Thank you for the compliment!

I blame God - he set up the whole shebang!

I think that argument only works when you believe in him.

I get that problem too. You can’t plan crops because it’s too wet. If you do the roots all rot off and the damns things shrivel and die. But the bloody ground elder seems to be growing a yard a day and as for the bindweed…

Bindweed? No, please don’t remind me!

I believe when I can blame him - it’s like believing in Santa so you get presents, only this way the pay off is a good rant at the sky.

You convenience faithster you! I find that ranting at random strangers is good - bus drivers, people in shops and so on. I’m pretty sure they’re not as keen on it as I am, but then they shouldn;t drive so badly or overcharge me, should they?
