Nice weather for ducks
The bank holiday came and went, along with rain that seemed as though it would never end.
We had grand plans to put phase 1 of our garden redesign into motion. We did make a start, but were beaten back by the unforgiving weather and the appearance of yet another truly corking cold that ran riot in my airways. (As before, I have been back on the Zinc and today I feel almost completely cured.) We are now officially behind schedule with the Pumpkin Potager Project.

My sticky sniffles also put paid to our plans for a weekend of quartet rehearsals - a girl can’t play when she can’t breathe. So the longest distance friend stayed away, while the nearer pals visited anyway, braving my sneezes and wheezes and off-colour tetchiness.
Our horticultural and musical plans scuppered thanks to the twin evils of relentless rain and snot, there was nothing for it but to enjoy beer and food at the Fighting Cocks, watch DVDs, eat birthday cake, read the newspapers and generally kick back and relax.
We may not have got much done, but we were unproductive in style.

Apart from the cold, it sounds like a relaxing weekend. Mine was very similar here on the farm in Yorkshire!
