Investing for the future
Yesterday the weather was so glorious that even though I was totally snowed under with work, I allowed myself to have a very leisurely lunch break (more than two hours!) so I could sit outside and get on with more sowing. I’ve obviously been inspired by my insomniac night activities.
I now have pots of beans (Neckar Gold, Blauhilde), courgettes (Rondo di Nizza, Albarello di Sarzana), squash (Marina di Chioggia, Butternut, Golden Apple, Sucrine du Berry) and sweetcorn (Sweet Sensation and Double Standard) sitting either in my covered plastic greenhouse or on the staging of my uncovered plastic greenhouse. Today they have been joined by three pepper plants (Long Red Marconi - scroll down a bit) that arrived in the post.
Fingers crossed they will bring me a bountiful harvest.

Fingers crossed for you, I’m sure you’ll have a bountiful harvest with that lot. Bet the break did you good too?
PS your kitty is a cutie. I keep suggesting to ours that they get paid employment but no luck so far…

Hi Redwitch - Thanks for the crossed fingers and good wishes. you’re right, the break has done me more good than I had realised - Ice cream, fresh air and relaxation have all contributed to a new, relaxed and productive me - long may it continue! As far as the cat goes, Iwouldhave to say you’re right. But then, I am biased. I have always thought she was cute and gorgeous which is why I chose her when she was 8 weeks old in the RSPCA. That and the fact that she was intrepid and cheeky looking!

Oh pooh - I forgot to sow my sweetcorn.

You think that’s bad! Pumpina forgot to sow her poo!

Neckar Gold and Blauhide (especially Blauhide) are excellent growers! Delicious too.

Frankie - There’s still time, isn’t there? Go on, what have you got to lose?
Burro - And I thought you were all coy when it came to talking about number 2s.
John - They are great, aren’t they? We’ve grown them for the last 3 years now and wouldn’t change to anything else. I knows what I like!
