Fooling around
We made a visit to the plot today and pootled around preparing a trench in the broad bean bed and pulling up weeds in what I think might become a bed for peas. The weather was sunny and frosty but really lovely so in theory we could have worked hard and come home feeling smug and virtuous.
Instead, after only minimal pottering we played around with the camera taking silly pictures of each other holding garden tools and then left before there was any danger of getting down to some hard graft. I think it’s fair to say that we don’t exactly take this allotment thing nearly seriously enough.
Can someone remind me of that the next time I’m wondering why everyone else has bumper harvests and I’m looking at shrivelled seedlings? Please.
