Time management
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a very busy person - they would be right. Take one look at our new calendar and you will see that we have no free weekends until April. April! Ask that same person and they will also tell you that I am extremely well organised. This time they would be wrong; it only appears that way from the outside because I am a talented actor.
I have realised that if I am going to be able to enjoy the coming months then I have to streamline much of what I’m doing. This means that there will be less time for the well-intentioned ‘growing everything from seed’ attitude I usually start off with that usually descends into ‘help nothing’s germinated / oops, I forgot to transplant those seedlings before they got too leggy / damn, everything’s been eaten by slugs’ madness. Instead, I have ordered various plants for the coming months in advance from Delfland. This does, of course, mean that the resulting food on my plate will be more expensive than if I had sown my own, but as I have more money than time (and that’s really not saying much, believe me) I think it makes sense if I’m going to have anything going on down the allotment this year.
So that’s a check in the box for being organised, but penalty points deducted for indulging my shopping habit.

“help nothing’s germinated / oops, I forgot to transplant those seedlings before they got too leggy / damn, everything’s been eaten by slugs” Ha ha! Yep, I know that merry-go-round very well indeed.

Just remember to enjoy it and all else will follow.

Mel - good to know I’m not alone!
Burro - have you been sniffing the old spice again?
