Countdown to the GBBP
I know, another non-allotment post. Sorry.
In just over a week our Great Big Bathroom Project begins. It’s something of a preoccupation at the moment as we have to clear out the room that is going to become the lovely new mould-free and non-turquoise bathroom. We also have to gird our loins for six weeks of noise, disruption and mess.
I realise that this makes it sound as though we are going to end up with a bathroom that the Ceausescus would feel at home in, but actually the finished result is going to be a whole lot more modest than that. There’s just a load of extra bits and pieces, including replacing the boiler, that mean it’s going to be a big job.
You might want to start thinking now of excuses for when I ask to come round and borrow your shower…

No excuses needed, just ask Owen not to leave stray hairs in the soap
And if you need any sympathy throughout the process, you can count on me & the mistress as the extension has left us battle-hardened vetrans of the no-bathroom (or kitchen, or hot water or water at all) brigade. And remember, it will all end one day. Our bathroom went from this:

to this:

in no time (well, 3 weeks actually)

Thank you - you’re a sweetie.
You’re right, it should be fine, and it can’t be nearly as bad as when we had our loft done and roof replaced so the whole of the top of the house was covered only in tarp for about three weeks. Talk about feeling exposed. Hellish.
Your bathroom is VERY nice. But that’s an awfully big mirror right next to the bath.

There’s an awful lot of me to be reflected

I know what you mean - Owen’s just the same. Too much beer.

LOL! I shalln’t comment any further in fear of developing a complex and/or eating and/or drinking disorder.

Not just little rooms.

Oopf! So cruel
(15.09.06 @ 3:17 pm)
I trained long and hard to learn how.

Nah, you’re a woman so it’s in the genes
Like Robin Williams said - women would never start a war that would kill you, just one that would make you feel really, really bad for a very, very long time
