Step 1: Hello, My name’s Clare, and I’m a seedaholic

Clematis

As it is raining on and off here in an unpredictable and disappointing manner, I am going to treat myself and sow some seed. This is unusal for me. I am much better at buying seed than I am at getting around to actually using it. Just as I seem to believe that owning a book will mean that all the wisdom it contains will magically be transmitted to me without actually having to read it, I also appear to think that having a box full of pretty seed packets will automatically produce plentiful supplies of year-round organic vegetables. Turns out I’m wrong.

Or maybe just buying the wrong seeds…? No, OK, just wrong.

So, progressing to step 2 of my seed hoarding addiction treatment plan, I shall today sow broccoli, cabbage and leeks (all a bit late, I think). Which also means that I stand some chance of having something home-grown to eat beyond September, and can perhaps bridge my ridiculously long ‘hungry gap’.

Your comments seem to have disappeared into the ether - Akismet hasn’t got ‘em. Are you sure it was my site you were on? Wonder what happened??
