Pumpkin Soup

a weblog with an allotment attached

P’Soup: Not for kids, but not x-rated either, just ‘adult’ in an ‘approaching middle age’ kind of way.

Over here at Pumpkin Soup we’ve been enjoying a surge in visitors. It’s that time of year when lots of folk in the southern hemisphere are searching for pumpkin soup recipes and many of them make it here, disappointed, no doubt, by the paucity of curcubit culinary suggestions elsewhere and then further disillusioned when they find that I can’t help them much either.

[Those of you that are looking for food inspiration of the squash variety should check out the 'recipes' category on the right. There aren't many but hey, this is an allotment blog, not a cooking site. Yes, yes, I know it's called Pumpkin Soup, but that's just a funky title, not a mission statement.]

Soup hunters are not the only visitors who have been thronging to my little bit of cyberspace. On checking my visitor stats, it turns out that since this post a large proportion of the upsurge in visitors is accounted for by people using a search string that they are probably hoping leads to something of a more adult nature. I had naively assumed that seasonal bad weather was the reason so many people suddenly wanted to know the lyrics to that song from Bambi and was utterly shocked to discover that ‘Little April’ is also the name of a young woman who clearly needs to spend more time on her academic studies.

The good news about this is that it turns out I am more innocent than I thought.

The bad news is that having re-read this post, I am shocked by how bloody old I sound!
