   Weeds, pigeons, snails and even slugs are amazing and beautiful - they may be in the wrong place at the wrong time for most of us, but they are beautiful all the same

   I was talking to a friend the other day about dandelion clocks. If the seeds were not so invasive we would really prize the plants in our gardens. Instead the sight of them strikes terror into my heart!!!!!

   HB: I agree. Only not quite so much about the slugs. Hard to spot much that’s beautiful about a slug. Bleurgh.

   lilymarlene: They are unbelievably successful, aren’t they? I have so many dandelions in the lawn and borders that I’ve given up the fight. I keep trying to tell myself that I’m encouraging wildlife by not being too strict about weeds, but really it’s just that I’m a lazy weeder.
