Spring in the air

Building on yesterday’s good work and humour I’ve spent the last few hours out in the garden. Like our allotment the garden has been sorely neglected for some months now. True, not much has been going on in it, but it has been in need of some serious tidying up.

Snails

I started by shoveling the contents of one compost bin into bags so we can ferry it all down to the allotment sometime soon. And what corking stuff it was too - gorgeous and rich and sweet. Yes, the garden could do with some, but the allotment needs it more. I ended up with four huge sacks full which should go a long way to beefing up the fertility of the soil.

Snowdrop

There’s still - as usual - so very much more to do, but I can’t tell you how good it was to be out in the fresh air, getting my hands dirty and spotting my first snowdrop of the year. Having a bit of a dance while I worked helped too.

Yay! Snowdrops! I love them and this year I’ll be plabting loads (Uncle Alan says September, I think). I feel great now Spring is coming - I even get out of work in daylight now.

Love the Flickr shots, by the way.

Wish I’d managed to get out of work in daylight hours today! :(

    Glad you like the pics.
