Postcard from Florence
Did you all have a good Christmas? Ours was excellent. We had a successful murder, a cosmopolitan Christmas Eve, excellent company and over-indulgence on Christmas Day, and on Boxing Day diarrhoea (for me) and socialising (for the others). All in all, not a bad way to spend our time. (Though if I could change anything, I would miss out the diarrhoea part.)
This evening I’m writing from Florence, having enjoyed a truly wonderful meal in fabulous company, and taking every opportunity to practise my Italian. Incomparable.
It is possible, however, that the vin santo I had to finish the meal is making it a wee bit difficult to write coherently, so I will keep this brief and will enthuse back home with pictures. (In other words, come back in the new year when there will be exciting, non-allotment-related posting - for a change!!)
Ci vediamo!

Clare. I can’t beleive you’ve told the world you had the squits. I thought you’d promised never to blog when drunk!

Ah, well, it’s only so I can show off that I know how to spell diarrhoea! there’s a brilliant mnemonic for it: Dashing In A Rush, Running Hard, Or Else Accident. Carol Vordeman came up with that one.
Ms Vorderman may have an incredible IQ, be a total advertising floozie and perhaps needs to shoot her stylist, but to me she will be forever linked with diarrhoea.

And now, for me too. Thanks, you’ve nearly put paid to that strange attraction she has.
