a weblog with an allotment attached

18 October 2005

Isn’t that what you mean by ‘working from home’ where you come from?

I went down to the site a couple of times over the weekend as I’d arranged with Ben to pay my rent, but he was nowhere to be seen. I’ve tried calling him but there’s no answer on his mobile, so now I’m worried that something may have happened to him. He’s had heart problems and I know he was in hospital for a while a couple of months ago. I do hope he’s OK.

While I was down there I was accosted by two friendly cyclists (which might suggest that I usually think cyclists are unfriendly, but that’s not my intention at all) who are interested in renting a plot and bringing their children along - what a breath of fresh air that would be.

But for now I’m working from home, nursing a fuzzy head, rheumy eyes and achey limbs. I do not have time to be poorly so I hope this is only a cold developing. Besides, how’s a girl supposed to nip down to the allotment and put more onions and garlic in if she’s stuck in bed sipping Lemsip?

Hope you’re feeling better soon. And don’t fret about the onions and garlic - you’ve got bags of time to get them in. Given that some are predicting a harsh winter, you may well be advised to leave them until the spring anyway…

Poor the you, mate! I hope you didn’t catch the lurgee from Wild Burro paddocks :-o

Give the fact that is raining like billyo right now, I doubt I’ll be getting into the garden for a while either so my sowing of beans will just have to wait… *deep sigh*
