Good day sunshine!

An absolutely beautiful day today, so I’m spending it working hard in the garden, but popping in every forty-five minutes or so to cool off!

Our next door neighbour has let me know that in two weeks’ time work will be starting on the bit of our boundary that is falling down and allows her dog to come in and poop all over our garden. Fantastic news. But it does mean that I have to move one compost bin (fortunately it’s almost empty) and several pots out of the way. Although it’s a big job, it’s just the impetus I need to do all the bits of cleaning and tidying that our poor garden has been crying out for. And on a day like today what could be more enjoyable than pootling in the garden and dreaming of a faeces-free lawn?

I have even had an unexpected bonus. As I was moving some bags of rubble (don’t ask) in order to make room for the displaced compost bin, a small frog popped up! I have absolutely no idea where in our garden it could possibly find to live that would be frog-friendly, but I’m very glad to see signs that I may get some help in the war against slugs and snails. There’s a long way to go before I’m able to enjoy as much wildlife in the garden as Bean or Al, but this is an ecouraging start.

we’re lucky with the birds, for sure. But they don’t half cost a fortune… It’s as though we’re buying their friendship. I wish I had a frog though. That must have been a lovely surprise. Gribbit while you can!

I know, I know, that was awful.
