Lit. land of Den
In spite of the ‘little and often’ allotment ethic we’re trying to cultivate, we’ve not visited our patch of weeds since last Monday. We had big plans for today, but have decided instead to have beer with friends while watching a spaghetti western on DVD - they’ll be here in a few minutes. Out of guilt, or perhaps because we want to feel that we’ve earned the right to do nothing, we did nip down there for all of about thirty minutes to pop three pumpkin plants in the ground. I’m not sure whether they’re Jack be Little or Golden Apple because I wrote the name on their paper pots when I sowed them and they’ve since faded away.
That’s the ‘little’ sorted then - the ‘often’ still needs improvement.

I’ve had a similar issue with chilli plants. While taking great care over the seedlings, after having heard that they cross fertilise easily, i magnificently got my cayenne and jalapenos completely mixed up. looks like next year I’ll be having jalapeyennes instead!
Are jack be little pumpkins tiny? they sound great!
