Feelin’ hot, hot, hot!
I’ve just been checking on all the produce in my wee plastic greenhouses, doing a bit of poking, prodding and even some watering (is there no end to my expertise??) and I have to say the peppers, chillies and tomatoes are lookin’ mighty fine. Since I potted them on a week or so ago, they’ve gone for it big time. They’re getting masses of light and the greenhouses do build up a fair bit of heat during the day and they seem to be thriving on it, all sturdy and healthy looking.
I’m starting to feel hopeful that I might actually harvest some fruit from them at some point this year. Bloody amazing!

My greenhouse is falling apart. Are yours quite sturdy? I admit, mine was only a tenner or so from robert dyas, but i’m sure the pvc is plain old cling film and someone’s swindled me…
I’m very jealous by your chillis doing so well, by the way. mine are really struggling this year - boo.

I wouldn’t exactly say that the greenhouses are sturdy, but they don’t seem to be going anywhere and they stay standing as long as you don’t walk too quickly past them! They were cheapo things from the pound shop (cost 12 quid - how does that work???), but they’re in a very sheltered spot. The garden is so small that almost everywhere in it is pretty safe from the worst of the weather, but the sunshine is still able to get in. It’s just a shame we have so little space.
Don’t be envious of the chillies yet - I’ve never got fruit before and according to them what knows, my usual trick of ‘neglect ‘em and hope for the best’ isn’t really a winner with plants that you hope to get food from!
