Ballot on the landscape

I have big plans for today. I’m at work this morning (9:15 client a no-show so I’m able to write this while waiting), then back at home this afternoon for some serious work in the garden. I’m planning to sow some more sunflowers, but this time they’ll be whoppers rather than the wee little dwarves I sowed before. Fun, fun, fun. There’s also some general tidying of pots and bits that are lying around making the place look rubbish. Owen’s parents are here at the weekend to take us to the Good Homes Show and if we’re not careful our home is going to look very shabby in comparison.

Once Owen gets back from work we’re going to vote (because I’m not the only one with big plans today) and then we’re off down the lottie to stick my sweetcorn seedlings in the ground (the polling station is conveniently situated almost next door!).

I’ve finally got around to reading your blog after a busy week. How’s the sacrificial lettuce? I ate my first of the season at the weekend, then moved all the rest from my greenhouse out onto the steps at the front of my flat. Now my lettuce looks like a wonderful selection of fine lace and doylies. Gah!
