Breathing deeply
No, it’s not the shame of breaking my promise that’s kept me away, although I will admit to feeling a trifle embarassed. It’s just that I’ve ended up being even busier than I thought I would what with work and chores and more work and celebrating people’s birthdays and even more work and Italian revision and sorry, did I mention work already? So our little plot lies neglected for the time being, which means that the grass and weeds will no doubt be flourishing by the time we make it down there again.
The good news is that this week some research I did has been published here. Which is especially wonderful as I have a job interview on Friday where there will be more than a little emphasis on research. So now I can legitimately parp on my trumpet a bit - woohoo! (You might be pleased to know that I adopt a somewhat more scholarly tone in the article itself.)
Of course, that doesn’t stop me from nearly cacking my pants in terror whenever I think about the whole tortuous process.

Well done on the article Clare and hope the interview goes well for you!
My weeds didn’t grow too badly in a week, it’s rain that’s been keeping me away!
